Thank you for this portrait of Lispector, it was beautifully written. I finished reading it today when I was in an awful mood, and only a few paragraphs in I felt my mood transform - even through this tertiary contact. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my second-hand copy of Near to the Wild Heart so that I can step into her world.

"She is one of those writers for whom the desire to be seen is not so much localised in herself, but manifests instead in the desire to show and to share the world as it appears to her (or we could say that she understands that there is no essential distinction to be made there)." Wildly, wildly perceptive, Jacob.
